Hey Guys,

I want to run the RT / 500 tail lights and centre panel on my 68 Coronet. I've seen a few sets of tail lights come up but no centre piece. I'd prefer to buy a full set but I'm wonder how I'd go running just the tail lights?

Would the 440 / super bee stainless trim for the bottom edge of the boot lid be the same or similar? etc? Just wondering if there is a way to run the tail lights with out the centre panel and not completely look crap while I continue looking for a centre panel.

Also, do the standard tail light plastic holder and lenses work with the metal trim? From the photos they look the same. Just wondering if I could just by repop tail light metal trim and mate them up to my tail lights (minus metal trim) rather then buy pitted second hand originals and possibly have to re-chrome etc?

Thanks in advance!

Hmmm...Don't know too much about the Non-R/T,500 trim layout back there, but on my 500 the tail light buckets transcend down and extend to a flat level to meet the finish panel. Without the panel there, it may look a bit screwy.

Maybe a pic would help:

Thanks Propwash, Looks like the decklip trim will match up ok. I'd probably have to butcher the lower piece and then I'd still be left with a noticeable step between the tail lights and the center section...

Probably just have to wait I guess.

I did a bit of google snooping. The 500/RT bevel looks like it would bolt up to the NON 500/RT light buckets. The lenses also look very similar. I might just punt on a new set of bevels, seeing as my lights are other wise in good nick. But I think I'll wait until I can get my hands on a center panel first.
