I'm looking to buy a set of door panels for my 1968 Charger (does not currently have any) and I found a complete set of 1970 Charger front/rear panels with arm rest pads/bases, the metal top pieces for the door panels and the top pads front and rear for $500. The set looks to be in excellent shape. Will these fit my 1968 Charger? A buddy said the door lock button was in a different spot. The seller says he is wrong. These 70 door panels do look fancier than the 1968 panels I've seen on line. Any help would be appreciated.

Seller is wrong. Door tops have a different lock rod location. Measure yours and have the seller do the same.

So, just to clarify, is it the interior door handle location in the actual door card that is different or the door lock knob location where it passes through the upper door pad?

I'm assuming the rear panels, upper pads etc would fit my car?

The physical difference (fit) is in the upper front door pads as far as the lock button position. The door cards would actually fit any B-body door (I believe). The '68 door cards may have a slight difference in appearance from a '69 in that the (again - I believe) earliest ones could have a silver fastener at the top corners of the map pocket - someone check me on this. The '70 door cards have a completely different appearance with no pocket - unless an "SE" which has the pocket and also some wood grain instead of the Charger "dart".

Image to peruse. (Edit: I should have notated; top door-lock pic is 69-70 position, bottom pic is 68 position)

Thanks so much. The ones I'm looking at are from a 70 SE as they have door pockets and wood grain which has been painted black. I already have the front door upper pads so I'm assuming the front/rear door panels would work as long as I use my original upper door pads.

Is $500 a fair price for everything ? They do look nice. Thanks.

What does Legendary charge for repops?
Mike

"up to 42 days lead time"
plus $265 for new rear cards.
Arm rest pads are about $50 each; bases additional to that

Of course, this is all new stuff, so you'll have to weigh "value" for yourself I guess.

Looks like new front door cards from Legendary are $517 a set.
Why have people started called them CARDS ? They are and have always been door panels.
That damned "Wheeler Dealer" show with their British terminology must be one reason. Soon people will say they need to clean bugs off the windscreen using cleaners and a towel stored in the boot.

The square chrome buttons on the corners of the 68 map pockets seem to have disappeared sometime in March 1968.

Just curious. On a two door car, what are the rear door panels supposed to be called when there's no door there? Quarter panel panels? Or quarter cards? Or Something else??
By the way, my favorite Charger door panels are from the 70 SE. The woodgrain and trim with map pockets are sweet!

I'm interested in this post because I've gotten conflicting info on when the chrome map pocket square fasteners were used on the Charger.

We call them door trims in Australia now every knob calling them cards over here as well. We call the (Trunk) Boot & the (Hood) bonnet

Cards are in Casinos.
Boots are worn on your feet.
Bonnets are worn by women.

Well - I guess if we're going to be pedantic about it, let's all be sure to call everything by its full and proper name, shall we?

"Door Trim Panel"

I trust I will never hear it called anything but a "Deck Lid" here-on-out?
