Another one of my favorite builds here - love these projects that show just how much one can accomplish with these unibodies when enough spare structural components are sitting around.
More pics soon... made some changes after finding some more parts. Built and installed a dana 60 for it last week and switched to super stock springs. Now that it's warming up here, I can get the body work done and paint it. Was going to do it in a flat silver for now, but want to make it the spring special green like my dads 69 rr was in the 70s when he raced it... so may just go that route now and be done with it.
I appreciate all the comments, definitely helps keep me motivated too. I build a lot of cars, but usually don't post them... I figured this one was more interesting since it's not the typical build.
It's in primer and ready to block and paint... when I get some other cars done and out of the way, just too busy with too many project and the crappy weather isn't helping.
Excellent work you're doing. When I was into trifive (55, 56, 57) Chevys, I saw this done to a couple of cars. The positive was that the roof is the same on the sedan, four door to two doors. The rear door was worked in the space, as the continuation of the quarter. This made dealing with the dog leg/wheel well simple. Not sure what was done to facilitate the mounting of the rear quarter window, as the regulator mounting holes would be different.
Wetsanded and going inside for paint in a few days... in middle of painting one of my rams first... but after way too long it will finally get some color
