69 charger title

No, it's not, if you have a State-issued VIN; that replaces that original (and now invalid) VIN for purposes of registration and titling a vehicle.

Read the end to his reply "If a person swapped the tag and used the title from a donor car"!!!!!!!!!! That is absolutely a Felony and was what I was referring to. Trust me I know quite a bit about this because I personally went threw this whole process and have a state issued VIN tag and a 2013 self built title for my car seeing how it was built from so many different pieces. I just feel it's important to clue people in on the seriousness of falsifying the identity of a vehicle.

just suppose........ :bom:

a car was hit hard in the front at one point in it's life............ and the entire front was replaced

same car was rear ended at some point afterwards.......... and the entire rear clip was replaced

later in life the rusty door shells also got swapped out........

all work was performed professionally, and pretty much undetectable......... insurance companies may have even footed the bill

were any crimes committed? :argue:

The OP was contemplating a VIN swap, just trying to help. I personally don't care one way or the other and think they should let these cars rotting away in fields be brought back to life title or no title, if it ain't stolen then it's fair game is my view on the matter.

lol...... i know........ and i agree

"if nothing is stolen" should be the key

in my opinion, there are "survivors" ...... everything else has been "restored" to some degree

people have no issue with swapping engines and drive lines with actual VIN numbers stamped on them; but replace some damaged sheetmetal with donor parts and many will have a bird.........

now back to the original post........ take the new vin to the body?, or take the new body to the vin? ........ lmao, the internet rebody debate has always entertained me ........ now where is that "stirring the pot"smiley?

And my response was in line with a State-issued VIN. A State VIN is NOT falsifying anything. It is issued by the State, period, and is a LEGAL identification number.

Agreed, they make sure it's all legit and take their job pretty seriously so no arguments here. I would argue that a state issued VIN is even better or at least in my opinion it is (not for value for sure). I say that because they kept my car for a week examining it and authenticating that it was in fact the car it said it was and that it wasn't stolen so it's a little extra piece of mind to me.

I know what your saying, it's ridiculous. I drove a Ford dually for years with a different cab (vin) on it for years and never even thought about it, boy that could have gotten messy if they would have checked it.
