I want to get a new engine harness for my coronet. It is an original 318 motor car. Some where along the line of owners the motor was switched to a 360 and an electronic MSD ignition was added. I was told the motor came out of like a 75 or so dodge van. What I wanted to know is which harness I should buy from Yearone.com. I was going to order the harness for a 69 318 that is modified for electronic ignition. Does this sound about right? The part number is HU181BM.

Innoi,
I guess it depends on whether you want the car to look "stock" or not or don't really care.
Since you live in California, don't you have to pass emission regulations? Since you say your engine is from a later model year/ application, '75 Dodge van, a 360 cubic inch engine of of that vintage MAY have an electronic carb and other emission devices. It would be my preference to use the Mopar electronic ignition system...out of quriosity, why did you choose the MSD system....it generally costs more and in my opinion, does not perform any better. Plus, should you need a replacement part, while on the road, the Mopar stuff is more available. I'm sure others will disagree saying you'll get more power using the MSD system.
As,far as purchasing a new replacement harness CONSIDER: Bill & Rose Evans. Google the name...they can supply an OEM harness or a custom designed harness to fit your application and whatever ignition system you choose....Call them 814-866-8184 or www.evanswiring.com. i like their work....I'm sure others have their own opinions. They specialize in Mopar. Their prices are moderate.

I bought the car with the engine and MSD already in it. I'm not interested in changing everything around to get stock equipment. I want new wiring which will be as close as possible to plug and play.
