I have been struggling with this decision for quite some time and I think it's time to part with this car. I just don't have the time or money to give this car the attention it deserves. I have done quite a bit to this car
new stock exhaust including manifolds
83/4 rear from drum to drum
new kickdown
new brakes and front drums
new v gate shifter
new electronic ignition
new trans mount
new driveshaft
new mopar performance xhd leafs with shackles, front hangers and bolts

This is a very solid GTX..there is no rust... but it will need some work...it is not numbers matching...It has a 71 HP 440...tested compression at 145 per cylinder

I belive the trans is good but it has a torque converter issue..the mopar clunk

It will need front end work...it's very driveable but I know the strut rod bushings are shot

Needs the front wheel housings completed

This is a highly optioned gtx...Light package, trak pak car, air grabber

Low retail for this car is 14300 and I would like to get around this for the car

If you are interested or know someone who is you can pm me and I will give you my number with all the fender tag info

There is no build sheet but the numbers on the rad support match the fender tag
It is a rs23 car

here is a link to some pics http://s113.photobucket.com/albums/n219/njpete164/gtx/

Nice looking car. Any under hood shots? Is it an original floor shift car? What do you mean "Needs the front wheel housings completed"?

It is an original column shift car...the parts it need for the fenders are the splash shields and iner fender cover...i can get some under the hood shots tomorrow

As a track pack car, wouldn't this have a Dana in it, not an 8 3/4

yea it should have a 3.54 dana....I ended up putting in an 8 3/4 with a set of 55's...It's a great rear...quiet as a churchmouse...i will take pics of the fender tag tomorrow and post it

That is one nice GTX and seems to be at a fair price. Good luck with the sale.
Matt

Hey guys....I want to clear something up immediately....what i thought was am a33 code is an m33 code on the fender tag...my apologies...the last thing i want to do is misrepresent anything...bottom line is it's a 3:55 sure grip...not a trak pak...once again my apologies...the history is i bouth the car with a dana in it and it was toast...the screw at the top of the fender tag was partially blocking the letter and i just assumed it was a trak pak car...thanks matt...it is a pretty nice car but I also realize it needs a few things which is why i set the price at what i believe is fair...this would be a really nice car to do up...most of the hard work is done

One thing really interesting is it's a green car with a red stripe.

Yes, but I don't believe that's for the red stripe at the top of the black stripe.

Thats a nice car but for one thing. Road wheels was part of the GTX package and not an option. That means no GTX left the factory with those ugly dog dish things on it.

I wish I could find my 69 brochure, cause I believe you are incorrect.

Darryl, you out there?

This is from the Winged Warrior site. Nowhere does it say that road wheels were standard equipment on a GTX

http://wwnboa.org/69bgragap.htm

STANDARD EQUIPMENT FOR GTX

Same standard equipment as Sport Satellite with these differences:
* Special GTX interior and exterior trim and ornamentation * Standard engine: Super Commando 440 c.i. 375 hp V-8 * Standard transmission: 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic with high-speed upshifts * Hemi front and rear suspension with front anti-sway bar and heavy-duty shock absorbers and front-wheel ball joints * Heavy-duty 11" diameter brakes, manually adjustable * F70X14" Red Streak, wide boot tires on 5.5"-wide wheel rims * 150 mph speedometer * 70-amp-hour battery * Bright exhaust tips

Never said I liked the wheels either...if this was a concourse car i would be askin a helluva lot more....it is what it is....a solid car with no rust and a lotta potential....never claimed it was 100 per cent correct

I like the wheels and caps. Did the same thing on a 69 Bee that happened to be F8 as well. And I still don't think road wheels were standard equipment on a GTX.

I've had others tell me they really like em on the car...I've always been a big fan of the nagnum 500's...I think the have just the right amount of "bling":tongueflap: without getting too nuts...just for the record even if i don't like something someone has on their car i keep it to myself...the best part of this hobby is it's your car...build it how you want it

you got that rite!!!

Dang nice car, wish I had the money..... Would not change a thing. It is perfect.

OK, here I am.
I was directed to this thread through a PM by another member asking me if I had seen the fender tag.

First, here is a link to a page from the 1969 Dodge Dealer Data Book which in this case the option for the wheels would be the same for the Plymouth. As you can see, the wheels in question are OPTIONAL not std. on a R/T or GTX.
http://www.andy440.com/1969q.htm

Second, regarding the fender tag, I believe is a reproduction, and not a very good one at that. It shows the car to be a Lynch Rd. assembly plant car by the V.I.N. but the tag is NOT a Lynch Rd. format for the tag. Also, I have never seen a 1969 GTX coded as a D34 Trans. code but rather a D32. I didn't really scrutinize it any further that the first bottom line. My guess would be that someone that has limited knowledge of these cars had this tag reproduced.

Thanks Darryl. I knew you would either have the poop, or know where to find it to show that road wheels were NOT standard on a GTX (or anything else for that matter). And good catch on the tag. You are quite correct that it's a Lynch Road car, but the tag was done in a "St. Louis" format. Also a good catch on the trans code, which as you pointed out should be a D32 not D34.

Obviously I was sleeping or under the influence when I looked at the pic of the tag. I didn't notice.:edgy:
