A quick look reveals a clean old Coronet with ill fitted quarter(at the door), filled extensions and updated fender mounted turn signals (71 up).......and the battery in the trunk because there's no battery or wiring on the inner fender?
I'll refrain from judgement as the owner simply finished it to his liking with the rally dash and a C body steering wheel?

Reminds me of a thread I saw where about 3 years ago an old lady listed a real z28 1970 camaro for 1200 dollars and every expert was messaging her asking for pics of the pedals (z28 unique only), the vin tag (decodes z pkg), etc the lady didn’t even know how to email and turns one member several states away called her and offered her 2200, sent the money and sent a friend to get the car.
Turns out it was a real z28 and yup he got it.

no harm no foul, for a decent price

they don't all need to be 100% OE restos
it isn't listed as such

looks pretty solid, pretty clean, from the stuff you can see

Looks like a Coronet 440 ( hard to see from the side picture )which should have the trim but could be had without. The biggest motor you could get in one was a 383 2bbl or a 383 hp.
Only the Super Bee had the 440 or 426 options.
I see it has the turn signal indicators on the fenders which came with the optional light package.
Overall still a nice car for that price if it a solid running car even if not all original.

Weelwell trim was standard and could not be deleted as it was part of the side trim for this model.
The engine issue has been addressed in other posts.
L31 fender turn signals were a stand alone option. They were not part off the A01 light group.

The factory data books are posted in the Hamtramck Historical library and are a great reference as to what was standard and optional on cars. While there are changes during a model year, the data books and other documents posted in the library are a good place to start. https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/library.shtml

You're right. Cars like these can be even more enjoyable? Can be upgraded to higher performance? Drove and enjoyed to local stuff. Not devastating if dinged in an incident?

I personally only target cars like these. My Minnesota cheap comes out when sticker shocked on price. Besides, back in the day? We built for better performance and drivability. I knew nobody that restored muscle cars to original in the 70s? That was for rare sport and luxury cars to the "Pinky up, champagne sipping" Concourse crowd? That I call "Blue Bloods" The reason why Muscle cars were made? Working man's sports car.

This of course is just my opinion. And I certainly understand the "To each there own." And that some builds are for remembering the past when they were new.

So I guess whoever did the paint / body removed the trim and filled the mounting holes with ?
Hopefully someone near there can go see it in person.
I will look into that site you referenced as I ran across it months ago but have not researched it further.

Depends.

Lynch Road coded differently than LA or St.Louis. So for 69 Lynch Road, no, the code is not on the tag. For LA and St. Louis: yes.

The fender tag, generally, serves as a durable traveling indication as to the BIW, paint and trim. Items that require a hole punched
in the sheet metal or bracket welded on (i.e C16 or C21) are typically coded. L31 falls under that guideline.

Different years and plants do things differently.
