Am thinking about converting my drum brakes to disc. Its got the booster on the master cylinder. What's a good easy disc conversion? Where I won't run into any problems like calipers hitting the sway bar. Also will I have to change out the master cylinder? What about a proportioning valve. I was thinking about the willwoods but would like some input from someone who has had some experience with this, thanks

you will need a disc/drum master and a prop valve.as far as brands,i like the scare bird conversion plates.easy to install and the parts used are easy available stuff.

I was helpfully pointed by this setup from Dr. Diff:

http://www.doctordiff.com/front-disc-brake-caliper-brackets-for-11.75-on-drum-knuckles.html

I priced out the other required parts including nice Wilwood-made 2.75" oversize calipers, Hawk pads, Dr D's prop valve, Mopar MC, etc, and it comes out to about the same (or cheaper) as Wilwood's 11" kit. Plus you have MUCH better pad selection with the GM Metric calipers than the old mid-70s Mopar stuff the Right Stuff kits use.

I used scarebird and had no issues at all. I've had em installed for over a year and they work great. All over the counter parts, the only parts that scarebird makes is the caliper brackets and bearing spacers to adapt the rotors to the existing drum spindles. Good quality parts and nice tight tolerances.
