i just purchased my first roadrunner on 9/29/12. the horn kind of makes a noise but does not beep beep. can this be adjusted in any way to make it sound correctly

They can be adjusted by the screw on them. Mine has this issue from time to time where it makes this really weak sound. The yellow wire from the column harness gets loose and makes it sound stupid....Just throwing it out there in case that is your problem. I just need to get in there and fix it but so far have been too lazy.

Just for clarification, the horn does not "meep meep" by itself if that's what you mean. If you want to duplicate the cartoon bird sound you have to hit the horn button twice quickly. The tone can be adjusted by the screw. I'm only bringing this up because I have had the question asked before.

check the grounds. the horn itself grounds to the body....inside the steering wheel.... the contact ring may need cleaned....(i use carnuba wax after sanding or steel wooling these parts )...keeps em from rusting again....check the horn relay contacts also. sounds like a bad ground tho....kinda like when you see a car with one really dim headlight....BAD GROUND !
