What's it Worth 69 Roadrunner - project car

But KD had a solid car to start with, so welding his front clip to solid metal was no big deal. This one will no doubt have rust, rust, and more rust.

I completely agree, odds are the car is a bucket; but it actually doesn't look too bad in the pics...... we obviously need to see more; perhaps there is a reason that particular rail rotted like that. The middle of the rocker is toast also......

these aren't common rot spots, maybe mouse urine or similar

oh, and I was replying to Cranky's hypothetical...........
If the rust is contained to the area the pic shows, about how many hours would it take you to fix it?

It took a hit and was repaired down low on the right side, fender, rocker, and bottom of the door. Is the door rusty? you should take photos of every square inch. Up and inside of the sail panels, the floors and trunk floor from underneath, everywhere. People here have had many Road Runners apart and they could tell you exactly what you have. I would rather have the Road Runner unless the C2 is a blown straight axle gasser with big tires on the back.

Yeah. Really no Price Guide per se, As the newest thoughts say "Worth what Someone is willing to Pay", Id list it at $10K O.B.O. someone WILL throw $8700-$9,500 at ya. BTW? Automatics ARE faster. Especially once you get that 1st Shoulder surgery.... Some will get it- Not a bad car!
Oh here we go again.....only ones that can't power shift are slow with stick :poke:

Can you do the work and do work that will make the car bring the $$$ when done? Do you have the time, not measured in years?

I am no help, I love the RR but after a decent project got up to $4-5000, I gave them up!!!

If you can even get it still from AMD, you'll be into $20,000+ in frame rails, hanger brackets, inner/outer wheel wells, rockers and floor plans in a HURRY. Labour, if you can't do it yourself, 400 hours minimum at the hourly rate.... and that's BEFORE body work and paint.

Replies got away from me a bit. Appreciate everyone's insight
The passenger side rail is solid. I'm not really sure why the drivers side rail rusted out like that. I've got guys that say it can be patched, and i've got other guys that say replace the whole rail.

As far as I know, the car was never hit. The damage to the lower quarter area was from a tea post, not a car. The car was a flip car that I got in the late 90's. I was 18 and had no idea. Engine blew like 2 months after I got it. Live and learn. I have pictures from an album they gave me when I got it, definitely rusty quarters. They did the rear quarters and then it looks like bondoed the rest. The doors do have some bubbling in the lower corners. They seem pretty solid aside from the corners. I was planning on rolling the car out in the spring and getting good detailed high resolution pictures of absolutely everything.

My plan was to do the floors and the trunk, then get the car in for media blasting to see what is going on under the paint. But again, I'm just to the point now where I don't want to invest the time and money into a car that I don't plan on keeping. Two years ago, I was pretty dead set on keeping it and starting the restoration process.

Its in kind of a weird state. The stuff that is bad is pretty bad. Not crazy about the rockers, the frame rail had me concerned. I've been in there with a pick and the rest is solid. The pass side is solid.
The floors have holes, but they aren't as bad as I'd expect them to be. I feel like I've seen waaaay worse. I've had a body guy look at the car and he didn't see anything that scared him.

But anyway, yeah I think my plan is to locate the fender tag and get it rolled outside for some better pictures in the spring. Then just see where it ends up. Anything over 8 I'd be fine with.
