I need help to remove rear window on roadrunner how do I go about doing this with out breaking it thanks steve

These are glued in. You can cut it out with a piece of piano wire.

Or if u have no help seeing as how u are in sunny cali leave it in direct sun light to heat the glue, use some lubricant,pb blaster,oil,wd-40, and a very thin blade exacto knife and go really slow and be careful not to ding the glass it may shatter, put some wood shims in to keep it from sticking itself back to the adhesive, piano wire is best but requires fairly co-operative help.

Piano wire worked for me, attach it to a block of wood as a handle on one side, sneek the other side through to the inside, attach another handle and saw your way around. I actually did this by myself(longer piano wire) but get a friend to help, it'll be much easier. Make sure you solidly attach those handles to the wire, it could hurt if one was to come loose while working it around. Good call leaving it in the sun, Ben.

b4 you start to take the window out you need to take a carpet knife and cut as much window sealant as you can that is accessible and cut around the window, you might have to do it a couple times. then you can push the piano wire thru or go to the local auto store and buy the tool(they will know what you need).i took mine out of my 69 rr by myself by using that tool.

I've removed two with no issues using a heat gun and a razor...as mentioned above be careful and take your time and you shouldn't have any problems. Piano wire is definitely the quickest way to do it. If removing it without help I'd recommend putting an old blanket across the trunk just in case...once that glue gives way they can pop out quickly and that could ruin your day in a big hurry.

Keep in mind, while you can buy a new windshield you cannot buy a new rear window for these.

(prolly already knew that)

the tool shown here is what i used, and it worked well for me.

the only thing with this tool is if you twist it in any way you can crack the window just becareful if you use it. I cut all the crap from the outside with a razor knife , went inside and went around the window .blade went through the goop and it came out in ten mins

Sure you can Runner...........

Trick is not having to. 1969, lot of good ideas on here to go by and like General said, avoid twisting/prying too hard... Real good way to chip/crack the glass.

For me, when I pulled my first glass I was scared, and had NO idea how to proceed with that new fangled tooly thingy I just got from Harbor Freight. They make a special tool to pull out windshields etc. It's a handle, with a L shaped blade sticking out the end, same end has a cable with a T handle on it. You put the edge of the blade under the glass, pull on the T handle and steady it with the other hand on the handle; it works very well! Only thing against doing this in the sun; you free up one area and move along and the sun re-seals it up! So, do it in appropriate conditions.
