69 satellite fender vs 69 roadrunner hood

I have a 69 satellite fender I am fitting on a 69 roadrunner and it appears that the top of the fender interferes with the edge of the hood near the hinge. It appears to have a form that extends further and does not allow the hood to close.

You can see the end of the form at the top pic. Should I just trim back the hood? It’s only about 1/4”.

I'm not sure what you're talking about....... how does it compare with the other side?

why trim the hood?...... if it's the new fender creating the issue?

See how the front is deep and by the hinge it is shallow? I don’t have old fender to compare and the drivers is also missing. So nothing to compare to.

Are you sure the hood hits the fender? Post a pic of the fender.

It’s clearly hitting that higher area with the pinch weld of the hood.

One more pic, this is the raised area that interferes.

See how it comes up way before the back hinge bolt? This is the mating area.

I think I will need to either modify the hood pick weld or the fender itself.

Up for ideas.

now I understand....... trimming the hood would likely be the easy way out; lowering that piece of fender would be the correct thing to do

It's the same fender. Did you replace the inner fender wells or was this corner involved in an accident? All of these possibilities affect how several pieces fit together.

Yes, inner fender wells are replaced. But that does not change how the hood lays in the fender trough. Hood is original and hinges too. Was not in an accident but a lot of the front clip has been replaced.

That rise on the fender is normal. Myself I would not worry about the hood hitting. To me you need to get the other fender and get the body lines right. I think you are nose down on the inner structure or frame rail.. I have never seen the hood to fender be a problem. If it were aftermarket fender or hood then anything is possible.

I agree with panora, you in my opinion have an alignment problem, cowl bracket to inner fender. Inner fender well looks to be high, and possibly down in the front. Sorta need to try and set all of it in place and make sure it all fits. Here's a couple of pictures of mine.

Can I see a picture of your hood pinch weld near the hinge?

Body shims are your best friend when trying to get a hood to align.
Maybe you have already tried this.

I have an A 12 hood. That ear on your inner fender well just looks high in your one picture. Is that your interference?

My new AMD hood has the pinch weld notched in that area-69 RR.

Now this makes sense. I repaired the inner structure of the hood and it did not have this notch. That might be a part of the problem.

Let me check all my alignment again and make sure.

The old hood- a little hard to see but it is recessed too
