Changing motors from a 318 to 440 in a 69 satellite, Would like to install a deep sump pan. Will it fit or what kind of problems should I expect before I buy one.
Depends on what pan you use. You might have to trim the edge of the K frame....the lip where the spot welds are. I always remove this and solid weld my K's anyways. Not only does it make more room for reaching up from underneath but it strengthens the K too. You can see what a difference it makes between the one on the left and the other two.....not a great pic but you can see what I'm talking about. If you run a sway bar, leave that area alone.
I have had both a Milodon and a Moroso pan on my 68 RR with a big block and they both fit. If I recall the Milodon with the flared sump did bump the lip that Cranky was talking about but not enough to have me get the saw.
Damn Cranky, those are some Swiss cheese special K's you got there! Lookin' good!
