I'm cutting clearance notches in my K-frame (63 Fury) for the oil pan based upon pictures sent me of another Poly with the same pan. However since I have the k-frame in modification mode I'm thinking this is the perfect time to put on a skid plate to protect my pan.

Does anyone know how much a 7 qt. Milodon pan extends below the 63 B Body k-frame? That measurement will allow me to determine if an off the self Mopar skid plate will work or if I'll have to fab something more substantial. BTW I'm using 2" dropped spindles which is the major reason for my concern with pan damage.

Skid plate thoughts??

On my 62 Savoy I only needed to cut the passenger side lip on the K frame for clearance. here's some pics for reference. I can measure it but I'm not home at the moment.

I have a milodon pan on my '65. Just had to trim and reweld the pinch weld area on the passenger side. It is about 4" or so to the ground. I fabricated a skid plate "just in case". The ride height is set in accordance with the factory service manual. With lowered spindles, I would not be able to drive the car.
