70/71 vs later bucket seat part interchange

Does anyone know if my '70/early 71 style seat backs, metal hinge covers and buttons will fit on the '72 & later seat frames. I want to modify a set of buckets for '71 RR for a 5 pt harness, but dont want to cut up my nice '70 style buckets. Thanks

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. I have a set of '70/early '71 build style seats with late '71-72 style seat backs. The seat back buttons don't seem to line up quite right and I am wondering if the two are not interchangable.
