70 air grabber hatch

on the 70 roadrunner, Is there a gasket between the air grabber "hatch" and the actual hood? I had my hood repainted, and no matter what the painter does it sticks in the corner. To the point its pulled up paint. Yes the clearance is correct. But I see some places have a gasket listed. Anyone have experience here?

So I'm not sure the 70 air grabber fits the same as the 71 and 72 - the scoop is a different size and shape. The link looks like the gasket for a 72/72.

But, @bobby albertson you DO need a seal between the two for a 70. I have a 70 Air Grabber and absolutely have one on mine.
Here is a picture of my hood seal when I glued it into my hood (when I restored the car in 2015). Not a great picture, but hopefully it helps a little...

The 71 - 72 Charger air grabber is like the 70 road runner, it is the 71-72 road runner scoop that is different. That gasket looks like a 1970 version, the 'v' front part is more shallow than the 71.

Wow - you learn something every day. I would have said that the Dodge and Plymouth scoops were the same for 71/ 72. Looks like I was mistaken. Thanks for the clarification!

did the scoop sit sup wuth the gasket? when we tried the gasket from Detroit.. it then didn't allow the scoop to go flush with the hood. Something that will settle over time? of=r something else?

Was there a seal before? Don’t remember reading. Mines factory and I assume yours sealed or yours or A/M too thick? You could buy a sheet of rubber from McMaster Carr and buy the thickness you need) and trace out scoop and then lay template in the opening and underneath trace out and make your own seal. I’ve got a template somewhere but has worked in the past for me on 70 AG hoods

I didn't have a seal when I got the car 5 years ago. after repainting I thought I got all the gaskets needed. we did try it but the painter said it made the scoop sit up slightly higher than the hood. So he left it off/ I did order another from Detroit so going to see on my own

ok!! Thank You all for the help. , My body and paint guy is a tool! I got the gasket and it dry fit perfectly. Shame on me for not checking on my own !!
Now the next part ,. Can the hatch be removed? with out destroying the side decals? or removing the whole under hood unit?
