Looking for lower center dash trim for 70 Roadrunner or GTX. This is the plastic trim that goes around the ash tray and over to the steering column. Need one that has the FACTORY opening for the air grabber switch. Not picky about color or A/C.

Just so you know, on the back of that piece there is a template that shows you where to drill the hole

Thanks for the response. Yeah I have read many times that there is a template on the back of the trim panel. Sure would like to see a picture of that. I have three factory trim pieces and none of them have a template. When scouring the internet all pics of the trim panel have no template on the back.

I'm also trying to figure out if the opening for the air grabber switch in the trim panel was round or square. If seen pics of it both ways. Thinking the factory opening was square and the retrofits where round.

Factory opening for A/G switch is a rectangle. The 4 speed lamp opening is round with a small locating notch at bottom. These holes are adjacent to each other on an air grabber 4 speed car.

Thanks for confirming that. My 70 RR came with the air grabber and a pistol grip when I bought it. Car was originally a 383 automatic with no air grabber. The PO put the air grabber switch and reverse light right next to each other and in the wrong place when installing parts from the donar car. Trying to get that corrected.

So, you need AG, 4 speed and no AC? I may have this. Also, I have seen some variation in location of AG switch. I believe there was some inconsistencies between plants.

Looking for any trim panel that has the factory AG opening. AC and reverse light don't matter.

Thanks

No air grabber cars got A/C from the factory - the base plate interfered with the compressor. Also, the base plate required AG cars to get 3 speed wipers since the 2 speed motor also interfered with the base plate.

I don't have the parts you are looking for but wanted to share some pictures with you in case there was any confusion about what parts you need.
I have a factory Air Grabber car: 70 383 California Road Runner with 383 and 4 speed. Here are a few pictures during my restoration.

Not a great picture but best I have of the back on the trim panel

Good Luck

Thanks HawkRod. That is great information. Was not sure about AC with air grabber. Now I know.

Regarding the wiper motor, my car came with the 2 speed wiper motor with a six pack and AG. Rather than installing the 3 speed wiper motor from the donor car the PO cut a big notch out of the air cleaner base. Ugg. I purchased a three speed wiper motor and air cleaner base to correct that. The 2 speed wiper motor rubbed on the air grabber seal and ruined that too. I have new seal that will go in at some point.
