70 Charger 440-6 4 speed........... opinions please.....

I wouldn't pay more for it than the parts are worth if you parted it out. Six pack is worth some bucks, but it doesn't have a Dana and doubt it has an 18 spline tranny.

Even though 70 charger is my favorite for that car, I wouldn't offer him more than $3000. And that would be just to get the motor. If it is even rebuildable. The car would have to be thrown in for free. It looks really rusty underneath from moisture after sitting that long. Another idiot who's wife said it was worth $120kand thinks he can retire after he sells it. Maybe drive over there in one of your classic mopars and explain to him that your car is worth "X" amount of dollars in the condition it is in now. Let him compare and give him a dose of reality. You said know FT or BC, does he even have the title for it? If not, than it is only worth parts price.

Does your wife work at Wal-Mart? there was a duster sitting at a store off I90/94. I talked to a store employee and he said it belonged to another employee whose husband is big into mopars.

Ok gang, fresh pics from the storage locker.... throw in your :2cents:

... Gawd I can still smell it :tard:

wow that's allot rustier than I thought, from the 1st set of photos, IMHFO it's really not worth much, if the engine, 6bbl set up & trans is good, maybe the grill parts, rear housing etc., gauge cluster etc., maybe worth the sum of the good parts....

I think were starting to understand each other.. The more I look at it the more I think its parts...... That being said. I doubt he sells it any way. I gotta feeling whats going to happen..... time will tell.

yeah :iamwithstupid: from what you described, he kind of sounds a little delusional, for sure... I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, until something says or shows otherwise... the 1st few photos didn't look much worse than the norm for a northern or eastern cars, I'm pretty use to Calif. cars & don't usually have to deal with all that's Rustoration... like I've said before I've seen worse people paid good money for & restored, I guess it depends on how Bad you want a 70 Charger 500 with a base 383, now 440 6bbl & 4speed car, that doesn't have it's original equipment, there's a 20% hit right there or necessary documentation, build/broadcast sheet or fender tag, probably another 20% value loss, for these Mopar's.... my $0.02 cents

After you get this car media blasted there may not be a car left to restore. I wouldn't offer but about 1/2 what the parts are worth that are left on the car. When he put this car away it was probably in a lot better shape. Looks as if he is trying to sell his memories of what this car used to be.

I find that very hard to believe..............................

Mike, Its sold, $9,000.00

I guess the old adage is true... :iamwithstupid: "there's an a$$ for every seat", I hope both parties are happy

that's a far cry from his supposed $45k offer, 2 years ago

Mike, It is sold, Didn't have a hard time finding at least 6 interested buyers. Didn't take long. Went with highest offer and be done with it. I know you had to deal with a lot of bullshit. Been there. I appreciate you're first offer. It was very fair. Obviously he was trying to get more for it but its just not going to happen. That's why it dragged on. Sold it to a retired father and his son who want to work on it together. The father had a 70 charger back in the day when the kid was a little ****.

Cool that a father and son bought it but hopefully they don't find it to be too much work for them.. hope they have their tetanus shots, too.
