70 Charger rust free fenders & hood "What If ?"

I had plastic covering everything, paper on the floor, and a fan in the window sucking out the fumes! I was pulling off the perfect crime! Everything was going to be cleaned up before she got home! I even bribed the kids not to tell on me! But there I was busted! Don't do the crime if you can't do the time! You get caught with car parts in the house one time, and you are labeled a horder for life!

After being caught painting rallye wheels in the kitchen, and officially being labeled a horder by the wife,I decided to live it. Now in the wintertime,I build grilles, reupholster seats, and build dashboards in the basemennt! Accept your horder ways and watch them flurish! My wife is a saint!

Ok, stop the insanity, no need for further replies , I've been doing Mopars, long before it was "Cool" & hunting in junkyards (for 68-70 B body mostly) for over 45 years. I've got some real good "food for thought" on here from different members, & thank you all for that. I've watched the prices of cars & parts , go up & down, like a cheap whores pants on a Saturday night! I've gotten deals, paid up for the right parts, sold stuff to cheap to help a person out,etc....

I have reached that crossroad that a friend of mine said about 25 years ago, I would get to.

Let's call him "Glen". I helped restore his cars , back in the day & was always in awe ,when Glen would come into the shop & say "I bought this ...". At one point he had 13 Hemi Chargers, from 66 to 71. Among others 64 Fury 426 Wedge, 70 Charger V code, etc... One time he sent me out west to BC ,to look at a 69 Daytona, turned out to be NOT in very good condition ,at the time "87".
My life then took a sharp turn in 94, but I never lost track of Mopars & still do it , just less so to speak. I can't remember how long ago, I heard through the grape vine that Glen was selling out, (even his most favorite ,a 69 Hemi Charger 500 ). I called him & went to visit right away. I asked him if he was dying or ???. Glen said this " I'm not sick or dying but as you know I've had numerous expensive cars & parts, since I was like 15. I'm getting up in years & if something were to happen to me, my wife ( let's call her Marge) would have to deal with all my cars (18 or so ) & parts. Most people are like vultures, when it comes to cars & parts. Marge was always right beside me & never questioned anything I've ever done, but she's not a car lady & he would never want to subject her to that monumental task of cleaning up after he's gone, should that happen !"
Glen is still with us ,all but one of his cars are gone & is now closing in on 90.
I'm sure we all have "Car or parts stories" but now it's back to reality, thanks again "6pktgo"

It will be a monumental task when I am gone. I started in the late 70s myself, been doing this all my life.

I have started the downsizing process. I hope to get everything I have to fit in the garage at some point!

Your 20,000 square foot garage?

I never mentioned this but the OP was a guy I met from the 1970 Charger Registry.
I had a thread over there about the build of "Jigsaw", my wrecked, ratty and rough Charger I put together with a lot of second hand parts. He read my threads and sent me half of a valance panel to use to make one valance out of two.

It isn't perfect, it was just a "first draft" to see if I could do it.
It works for now though. The OP was kind enough to help a guy that was trying to fix a car on a tight budget.

Lots of good people on here Greg! I lent my NOS valence to AMD so they could make the reproductions of the 70 Charger valence. I had to twist their arm to do it, but now they are available.

Nice assist @6pktgo  That shows a true car guy who is willing to help, and better still without being asked.

Here's a question for you.... Have you ever given anyone here a LIKE or a THANKS, or an AGREE ?

Or do you only QUOTE people's posts here? :poke:

I give likes out whenever I like what I see.

There are some stingy people here that NEVER dole out any of the LIKE, THANKS or AGREEs.
Not that a huge reaction score equals anything like a $5000 gift certificate at Summit Racing but it is nice to get acknowledgement for your efforts.
