70 coronet disc brake conversion help

I have a 70 coronet with none power drum brakes. I purchased a none power disc brake conversion kit with no master cylinder for it I installed it and no front brakes I have a stock propourtioning valve but some said I need to get a none power disc master cylinder is this true or do I need a disc to drum propourtioning valve?
 
Whoa, you need a disc-drum m/c. Of course you have no front brakes, disc brakes require a larger reservour and your drum - drum mc just aint cutting it.

Whose kit did you buy? You need to size the mc to the cylinders in the calipers to get the correct power and feel, so you should call them to get their recommendation, because a poorly sized mc will either create too stiff a pedal and require way too much leg force to stop it, or way too much pedal travel and bottom out the pedal before the brakes apply max stoping power.
 
Ok, you need o find out what their recommendation is on mc size. I don't think classic industries makes anything they sell, the brake conversion included. Any idea who made it? Post some info and maybe someone can track it down for you.

Btw, this is a front disc. Rear drum setup now, right?

At the very least, you should measure the cylinders in the front calipers and post the measurements, because as I mentioned, the mc must be sized to it as well as the brake pedal lever.

You can keep your factory drum brakes distribution block (what you are calling a proportioning valve) and just plumb in an adjustable proportioning valve in the line to your rear brakes. They're cheap and easy to find from folks like summit, jegs, PST ect..ect... As far as a Master cylinder bore size, being you have manual brakes, you want to go with a smaller bore size....somewheres around 15/16" or 1" I would guess.
