On Barrett Jackson tonight i saw a perfect 1970 Coronet 500 Convertible with the 290 HP 383 go for 42 grand. And to think a restoration shop told me to part out my 69 Sport Satellite convertible after the body work and paint was finished because it would be to expensive and not worth it to finish the car as it was just a lowly Satellite.

Hey!
I resemble that mark...Mark.

I personally LOVE my 1970 Superbee AND I specifically like the 1970 Coronet R/T Super Drag Pack cars
(Make mine purple please?)

PS: B-J sucks...
And they HYPE the cars to a ridiculous point.
Last nights Mohegan Sun inventory was a poor example of collectible cars

70 Bee is my favorite and Coronets are what I own....no regrets....except for sharing this planet with people who believe their beliefs are gospel.....

I'm at Mohegan Sun right now. I checked out that Coronet and while it is fairly nice, it's not, 42 large nice. The paint is pretty blotchy and the interior is not pristine like a car of that price should be.

Not much in the way of Mopars, but I enjoyed the "event"

If the top goes down, the price goes up!

Take any pics RC? Did you see that '68 "R/T" with the '69 grille?

When I see a 70 coronet I'm reminded of the Edsel. It's the grill that does that to me.
I had a 69 bee that I bought new which I really liked.
The change to the coronet the next year was just too much of a change for it to be called a coronet. It morphed too fast. A different beast calls for a different name.

IMO it's like the change in the charger from 70 to 71. That's another time a name change was called for.

Edsel? Edsel? Now you've gone to far!

Oops--sorry-- you are right that was a bit over the top.:D

Here is one of my favorite grills and I'm sure it's a bit much for some to take. (this looks like a model car)

The blue one with white top/interior????

I like the 70 grill, it's no my favorite, but I'd roll in one...

I was surprised the 70 Vert. went for $42k also
I though when they showed it the 1st time, maybe $28k-$30k

All it takes is 2 people that like it & keep bidding,
the seller loved the price I'm sure, some go for more & some go for less,
that's how no reserve auctions work...
