The key cylinderAre asking about the key cylinder or the ignition switch ?
do i have to remove steering wheel and signal switch to get at what ever hold the key cylinder in place? The key cylinder
Thanks for the reply, I have no worries about taking it apart , just never did a mopar one before . Was hoping there was an easy way. Im replacing it so that my door locks and ignition are keyed the same..Again thanks for the helpyes you do. I had mine all apart to replace both the signal and the ignition switch. You have to get down to ignition switch in order to get to the key cylinder. Its a small metal clip on the side of the cylinder that you push in on and than the cylinder can be pulled out. I didn't replace the cylinder because it was ok. I suggest you use the service manual because lots of things have to get out of the way to get that far into the shaft. Maybe somebody else may know a secret way of doing it. It is a fairly complicated procedure and if you are not confident in your ability/experience to handle this than maybe you should consider other options. If the cylinder is operational perhaps some lubricant or graphite can help you. You haven't said what's wrong with it, only how to replace it. Hope this helps.
