Finally got her painted after 3 years, woohoo. It took longer than expected because of the usual reasons (time, tools, money, motivation). The color is Sherwin Williams AWX waterborne pearl white. It's hard to tell from the pics, but there are nice color transitions in the different shades of light. i gotta upgrade my phone. It's almost like the pearl white on those new Lexus IS250's. Today or tomorrow they are shooting 1 thick black stripe down the hood, trunk, and valance's about 2 feet wide and highlighted by a thin red pinstripe. Gotta stop by there today when they lay down the tape.

Most of my threads are on the other 71-74 charger forum and I have a few on here too. I think I'm gonna start a detailed restoration thread as soon as I go through all my pics. Here is some basic info on what I have and what i've done so far. 71 charger coupe, came with a 318/904 and 4 wheel manual drums. Somebody replaced that with a 69 era 383 with 906 heads and a 727. Work i've completed - rebuilt suspension with bushings/torsion bars. Power front discs and stock drums on rear. All new wiring bumper to bumper with Ron Francis retro wiring harness. Upgraded to Mopar Electronic ignition. Took interior down to bare metal and re-primed and painted. New carpet. Restored dash. Recovered seats at a local shop. Oh, and i took the whole car down to bare metal in my garage with 80 grit, lol. I was too cheap and stubborn to pay somebody to blast it. I let the body shop handle the metal work, and it didn't need much. LA built car and been in SoCal since 71 most likely so very little rust.

Great job rocky! looks great and the black stripe will make that pearl white pop! Good luck in the finish, hope you'll update us as you near the finish line.. Enjoy..

sweeeeeet!! white lays great on your 71...def get more pics out in the sun when you get a chance!!!

Nice looking Charger. What size wheels and what brand of rubber may I ask?

Lol, WOW, i bet that took some time putting it together.. even working lights, Thats pretty slick!

The tires are cheapo mastercraft avenger tires from the previous owner. They are too small and will be replaced soon. 205 45 16 on the front and 255 45 17 on the back. The tallest tire i can fit on these rims is 235 60 16 on the front and 275 55 17 on the back. 27 and 28 inches tall. Thats what I'm going with. Got no money for rims any time soon.

I have 17" on all 4 corners of my car. Need a big tire to fill the rear for sure! Depending on what type of driving you are doing you may want to look into a 275/50R17 M&H drag radial for the rear. Just a shade unde 28" tall.

paint stripe on your 71charger

:headbang:personallly i would run a ghost style line like the super bee style with the same LEXUS color in sliver pearl it would look a lot cleaner and get a better response but that is just the opinion of one person ...I don't mean to offend ...sure does look nice .......
