Where can I get one that isn't bat **** expensive?

I tried amazon.com.. they showed

ACDelco 45C0008 Pitman Arm

Which is COMPLETELY the wrong shape.

I tried JCWhitney which gave me a TRW part number that replaces MOOG k7076

which is the right shape, but the hole/slots are too big.

Is there a pitman arm that uses a smaller splined shaft? Part# or source anyone?

Thanks,

I ran into the "wrong shape" issue on my first 66 Coronet back in high school.

IIRC, the aftermarket redesigned them to be more like the late 70's to 80's arms that curve and give slightly more clearance for exhaust and linkage.

The splines clock the other end in the same place, even though it looks odd as hell.

My shop teacher was a hard core old school Mopar guy from the 50's on and said "trust me", so I did.

...of the "top third" of the class, we had a microcosm of brand favoritism-

5 chevy guys, 3 ford guys and me.

I think teach was happy to have at least one!

Ahhhh... so I was trying to install the funny shaped one upside down... I had it on there where the ball joint was coming in from the bottom of the draglink.... You're saying if I flip it, it will bolt up into the draglink from the top and work, even though it's a different shape.

I still was not able to get it installed because of the taper in the drag link and on the ball joint. The hole was drilled to fit the ball joint being inserted from the top, not the bottom. I just bought a rebuilt cardone pitman arm from O'Reilly Auto. Happy say it fit perfectly.
