My car is a 71 charger auto. Previous owner took out the factory floor shift and put a b&m in the console. I would like to go back to the factory set up. Please PM me if you have what I need. I will need EVERYTHING from shifter to all the linkage ending at the lever in the tranny case. Bracketery and stuff I already have still welded on the car. Thanks!!

I built a 71 charger and put a b&m shift in it. I will have to do some looking but I took out a slapstick set up. Also I am in Idaho.

I'd be interested if you'd be willing to ship. Do you know if a slap stick setup would work with headers? Thanks

it is actually at my fathers house in northern idaho. I won't be up that way until the 17th. I will do some digging once i get there and let you know

I have some of those pieces PM me

Let me check my storage this weekend , should have a setup

I'll never understand why people do that.

the factory shifter is a ...ratchet shifter (not available on gm and fomoco)

You're tearing that out, spending money and time to install...

...a ratchet shifter

I agree. It is simply stupid.

Thanks for the replies. Yeah I agree. And the factory stuff works so much better than anything aftermarket. Millions spent in engineering to make a specific part work awesome with a specific car, to only have a guy replace it with one-size-fits-all something that has a cable that melts.

...only caveat of the slap stick..."T" handle plastic design is weak.

Most of the T handles that I see broken are because the wrong screw was used or the screw was cranked up too tight. Most of the time it is the wrong screw being used.
