My passenger turn signal does not work and I am suspecting a ground issue but have not found anything yet so I wanted to see what experience on this board has to say.

Two scenarios that the car can be in when I get in:

One
Passenger fender light on solid when signal on (as well as solid on dash)
Passenger front and rear signal does not turn on at all
Flasher works at all 4 corners of the car
Parking lights all come on except for passenger front
I have unplugged the passenger fender light with no changes.

Two
Passenger front fender light does not come on at all
Passenger front and rear signals come one solid with no flash
Flasher works at all four corners
Parking lights come on at all four corners
Unplugging the passenger fender light does not change anything.

From research I have done I believe this car has two flashers, one for the turn signals and one for emergency flashers. Since the driver’s side works just fine I do not think it is flasher related but could there be a flasher for each side of the car?

I have a 72 satellite and just got all my wiring straightened out a couple months ago. There are two flashers. Seems like they did the best they could to hide the turn signal flasher. It is behind the ash tray area in my car. Off the top of my head, it sounds like you have a bad turn signal flasher. The emergency flasher sounds like it is good. I put in all new bulbs after I cleaned all the sockets and dabbed on some dielectric grease. I also downloaded the wiring diagram after a Google search. Very helpful. You will also need a volt/ohm meter or test light to make sure you are getting the proper signal at the individual sockets. It was best for me to work on the brake lights, running lights and turn signals individually. In taking a systematic approach to troubleshooting you will be better able to find and repair the problems that you may have with each system. Good luck!

Thanks red72, I will look for that. I had downloaded a wiring diagram and it only showed one that I saw, but it also showed two horns where mine has one and did not show the trunk light or the dome light if I remember correctly.

most of the time a constant on flasher indicates a bad turn signal switch or a bad ground at the lenz.ground is easy enough to check for at the socket with a continuity tester.you can also do this at the plug at the base of the steering clm.a bit more involved there.you would be checking for continuity to the flasher circuit from any other circuit except the power lead while the switch is on.doing this while it is unplugged.

I finally got back to this and found the single flasher for the signals between the ash tray and glove box. Changed it out with a newer electronic version and all is better than ever! Thanks y'all for the advice!

glad you found the problem. i believe the reason the driver side worked and not the passenger side is that the flasher works off of resistance and the passenger light being farther away caused increased resistance therefor not tripping the flasher properly.
