I have a 71 plain jane charger WH23, 383 4 speed in Kelowna. Meet a guy and his friend has a 71 super bee WM23 383 4 speed. Both built on the same day. Mine was just behind his. Kinda cool.
So Mine has a 323 posi ( code 043 ) What does he have for gears? ( code 049 )

Dark Green Metallic

Full White Vinyl Top

Damn , both are Awesome

Cool story and cars.

Both built on the same day. Mine was just behind his.

VIN numbers have nothing to do with production. They are an administrative function unrelated to when things got built. Yours could have been built a week before or ten days after his.

Were the cars from the same dealership or at least geographically close?

I understand. The SPD is, generally, irrelevant as to when the car was actually built. We know this through broadcast sheet, door decal and Lynch Road fender tag data. The cars could have been built two weeks apart and still had the same SPD and consecutive VINs.

I learn something new here every day
you have a great understanding of the process & #'s
& very well versed in 'explaining it too'
:thankyou:

still a cool deal
having 2 similar bodied cars, in the same area, with #'s so close
from 1971 1 Charger R/T & 1 SuperBee

Ok... Got it, cheers. Also mine is just a plain charger, not a R/T.

They were likely ordered for stock by the same dealership and the orders were processed at the same time by the factory would be my best guess. Do either of them have a broadcast sheet or door sticker? Those can give you a better idea of the actual build date.

Any pictures of the cars ?

Would like to see please

Pics of long ago. Yet to get er done. Still working on my rag top. She is rough but saved her from the bad guys at the crusher..

I have three 71 Charger R/T cars, one that the six digit VIN starts with 102 another that starts with108 and another that starts with 115. The102 Charger R/T is an August of 1970 SPD. The top picture is the Charger R/T that starts with 115 Hemi orange 440 automatic car,the next pictures are of the Charger R/T that starts with102, Tawny Gold 440 4 speed Dana car with N96 Ramcharger hood option. The last picture is the car that starts with 108 440 automatic car.View attachment 1269211 20210829_191439.jpg
