I'm in Illinois too, and they salt the roads and we are part of the rust belt. Trying not to make this hard.. lol. Just trying to see what you are seeing. Again, pictures would help sell the car (maybe even to me??) Maybe this can help you help us what know what you call solid.

The picture showing the trunk is not from a 71 Satellite as a B body doesn't have a spare tire "well"...is that an A-Body pic like a Duster or Swinger?
