Yellow has always been my favorite on a bird.

vote for white the original color.would be easier than a full color change.i would invest the rest in a 72 roadrunner grille, sorry but its whats sets the 72s apart from the 71 rr satellite, first glance and it looks like a 72 satellite, just my 2 cents.plus being 1 of 329 with the 340 4-speed makes it rare,i know its your car but you asked our opinion

The previous owner ruined this car by taking all the RR parts off his REAL RR and put them on a Satellite to make a clone WHY? That included the grille which I am working on replacing. He also ruined the car by painting it a mocha over the original white everywhere jams trunk and he spray bombed the engine bay black. So no, painting it back white wouldn't be any easier thats why I'm looking into painting it a different color.

Thanks
Keep the suggestions and pics coming!

I would go back to the original color if it is that rare. I love the FC7 cars and black on black and even EV2 on black cars but what gets my blood going is seeing something at a show that stands out, that I dont normally see and your Road Runner combo would be one and then being a sour speed on top of that.....Yeah original color would work for me.

I agree! Too many FC7s out there. The white with gold interior is a stunning combo! You won't have to worry about parking it at a show next to another like it, cause there won't be. It's a rare car. My second choice would be FJ6, of course.:D

different year but you get the idea...wheels are the only thing I'd change

White?? Come on people..gag me with a spoon..nothing more boring than white on a muscle car..Sassy Grass is about the best color there is on a car then purple real close & no I dont own either colors, but White it would never be..

Until this thread I have never seen that color combo let alone that color stripe. I would keep it original and if you want a different color maybe pick a Road Runner we all see more often and change the color combo.

I hate when I go to a car show and I see the same color car over and over and over when you know the odds of them being real FC7 cars is disapointing after you read the color code on the tag.

They may resale better in that color but I bet they will go higher if kept original.

I wished I owned it I would put it back to stock looking and drool over it for hours. I know what is rare and when I see rare I try to keep it that way.

I miss my 70 Coronet R/T one of one car and you dont get any more rare than that.

If you want to sell the car let me know  but I'm betting its out of my price range any ways. We both are in VA I sent a pm to you to see where you are at.

I would love to see this car in person. off to drool over a few cars for sale that I can't afford and to drool some more your car as well :headbang:

I love purple but then again I am a bit bias as my 69' is purple... You can't go wrong with it. Unless of course you don't want to be the center of attention because you will be the only purple car on the road and it draws attention. But really any of your choices will look great.

Are factory colors the only option? I have been wondering how that pearl white GM uses on their higher end SUVs would look with some factory styled but custom colored blue or gold stripes.

i like putting cars back to original,,, however silver with red stripes look good on these cars. 2 cents worth!

If you didn't have the car and know about it, id say it was done because of bad frame rails and body in general, But you knowing all about it, my guess is he had no idea what he was doing, young guy maybe that doesn't know anything about old cars.. It sure doesn't make any sense at all. Man, you sure have a lot of different colors to have to pick one.. I added my color but ill leave you another i like, to add to the mix, a "candy" butterscotch outside with white interior.. I seen a car painted like this, a 57 Chevy vert but it did just pop out with the candy paint...

If you've already decided on a black interior, then you'll never go wrong with TX9 black for the paint. '71-'72 Satellites look sharp in black.

Please get rid of the full top, they just do not look right on these cars.Mine is FC7 but I wanted a light gun metal or Curious Yella car.

I no longer have the full top trim for this car as the PO took that as well, but I do have the correct 72 half vinyl top trim.

Show me more pics of your purple bird!

The only frame rail rust was two holes behind where the factory rear sway bar mounted and those were no problem to fix as I have aleady done it. The floors are mint except for a patch on the drivers side which I have just welded in. The only real work is the quarters and trunk extensions. Its a fairly rust free car and it runs and drives (now). I still don't know why you would make a clone of a car you already have.

Blue

darkest midnight blue with red interior ... may sound strange blue and red but I saw a 63 vette with that combo and it was incredible (of course a 63 vette would look great in any color ) take a chance ....and no milk white

I do hope you didn't mis-understand what i meant bud, Im saying basically i don't know why myself "unless" this was the case, you having it and driving it i knew there was nothing wrong with the frame rails and body... It doesn't make any sense why he did do it, unless he really didn't know what he was doing, about old cars... No sir, not a thought i held for a min.. Maybe i took your response the wrong way lol, but i wanted to be clear! This isint the first time someones tried to understand why some people do things the way they do, i personally chalk it up to young-n-dum most of the time.. If there not young then very uneducated about our cars for sure..

Hey Ron I understand what you meant, I was just saying that she was no rust bucket and not in need of a re-body or something. The guy was a cop and not young by any means but I guess he was a chevy guy at heart LOL. Some people just dont care at all. There was a really nice duster for sale that I saw all the time, a survivor for sure. next thing I know it was down at the shop with a crushed front clip and bent frame because the kid that bought it put it into a wall!
