I was thinking a Pypes 2-1/2" system would work with the stockish chrome tips and I'd just drive down to the Summit store to pick it up. But I might want to raise a little hell first. My 7 yr old grandson's favorite car are Chargers and I'm looking forward to driving the 25 miles to show him but not until Spring.O.p., is your garbage converter a GER?
(And get rid of the bullets. I like Flowmaster sound, but only the three chamber ones, or any Quality turbo or hemi muffler)
As I said in my original post, I just got this car and maybe drove it 10 miles in 2 trips so far. I don't think I had it over 40 mph. It's the middle of winter here and the car is in my GF's unheated garage but I could swap the converter easily enough. The drainback issue did cross my mind especially with the aftermarket trans cooler in front of the radiator.
I have a VERY long to do list and a tighter converter is near the top. For instance, only one of the 6 taillights are working and the headlights are dead. The fuel system is done so on to the next item.
I always say just drive the car and it will tell you what it needs. My 3 other 60s Mopars are stick shift but something told me the stock 340 converter I saw listed would've worked well for me.
Thank you for all the responses!
