My shop was just a few blocks from Transgo and I was a good friend of the late Gil Younger
I was around when the 518 OD kit was developed and can attest to the number of times it was R&R from the test Dakota V8.
Gil said you could always build a kit which broke parts- the trick was developing one that worked but that stood up
He did not like type F fluid- for good reasons
That Dakota - which tows- has over 250 000 miles without a rebuild- shifts are just a little softer, adjust the bands and use Type IV fluid and a good cooler
anyone know who makes a HD exhaust valve for the Magnum like they had for the LA motor- real hard chrome stem etc?
