The rear band pivot can easily be sealed from the outside. PreSS the pin in as far as it will go with a light tap and punch. Clean thought with brakleen. Use a putty knife and quality RTV (I like Ultra Grey). Fill the pin bore with a sipping motion. If you are determined to replace the O ring; remove the trans crossmember, pan, valve body, rear band adjuster and strut, tail housing bolts, rotate the tail housing to access the pin. If the tail housing gasket sticks, or is suspect remove the small plate unde the trans mount. Open the snap ring and pull the tail housing off. Now you can pull the rear band anchor pin and replace the O ring. Pay close attention on how all the band anchor pieces re orientated on the shaft .
