I just put a 440 in my 66 belvedere and a 727 tranny with b&m convertor .I drove it for a few blocks and I am getting a weird noise from tranny .Seems ok if in 1st but when I am in drive it made a loud clunk then a buzz kinda like when its moving and put into park ,and the I heard hydrolic fluid pressure kinda noise all right after the clunk .I thought I was f&&&&& but let off the gas and just idled it home when I got home seen passenger side motor mount was super loose ,tightened that and am terrified to drive again .could really help if any one has had an experiance like this ,I have a nother tranny to go in it but my buddy said could be starter cause I got the mini starter on it or the input shaft ,or torque convertor but convertor is brand new .???

new info

ok I monkeyed with it a bit every thing seems perfect in p,r,n,1.When I put it in drive or 2nd I here this clank almost like somethings banging off the flywheel .I took it for a drive was ok for 2 blocks soon as I got in in to 3rd noise shift it to 1st no noise giver let of idle away perfect in 1st ,put it in 2nd noise third noise ,reverse perfect, nutral rev perfect neut to 1st perfect neut to drive ok but give a little gas with brake clang rattle clang .So I figure it can't possibly be stater or convertor ,cause it would do it in 1st ,maybe not rev but definly not 1st .Unless there is a differen't input shaft for drive then there is for first???

check all your converter bolts, im the king of converter bolt mishaps.
if one is loose your hearing the bolt hitting the back of your bolt. get under there quick before you do some serious block and tranny damage.

I am with SSR I had a Duster once and the dumb *** that installed the motor before I bought the car had not tightened the convertor bolts and sounded like a rod knocking, all sorts of hammering!!!
