Valvetrain noise

The noise starts at 2500. I thought about putting the heavier trick flow springs back on and trying them. The trick flows are about 60lbs heavier installed and 50lbs heavier open.

Imo, the 1.550 TF spring is a poor choice for a HFT cam.
Too much pressure/too much rate.

I’d probably try some Comp 928’s installed at about 135-140 on the seat.

It won’t likely change the noise situation though(or any other spring).

If you’re looking for the level of performance that cam can provide, but with better valvetrain stability, you’re probably going to need to either go to a SFT or some sort of roller.

It’s not really the “cam” that’s the problem, but the lifters inability to deal with the cams intensity.
If you do a search for the old Mopar Muscle article “mild mannered mauler”, they used a cam from that same lobe family that was unhappy much past 5500.
Tried a few different springs, no luck there, but tried solid lifters on it to pinpoint the source of the problem.
That cured it.
