727 shifting

I recently installed my 727 and for some reason the car won't start nor will the starter engage in Park. If I shift to Neutral the car starts. I think the linkage is out of whack. How do I go about correcting this?

There should be an adjustment where the linkage connects to the shift lever on the driver's side of the transmission. Have someone hold your shifter in park and push the shift lever all the way into park. Then make sure you can feel each gear engage as you move the shifter. If you can't get it to work the issue could be with your neutral safety switch.
