What is the piece on the end of the shaft? Emergency brake remnants? If not will it work with my 440 swap into my 70 b body?
 
Looks like a motor home trans, from dipstick location. Sorry,can’t help.
 
It a Vibration damper. Later model trans had them. Can be removed, 2 bolts
