AlsI have a original 727/340 charger. I am removing the orig 340 and intstalling a 1970 steel crank 340.

Can i just remove the balancoe weight off the converter?

Can i reuse the flexplate

So long as you use the neutral balance harmonic balancer too....

Thx the 1970 340 has the smaller balancer on it already.
This motor has 1969 date code. With Xs on the outsides. What are these heads?

This might seem strange, but why not keep the nbrs matching engine in the car and rebuild it w/steel crank and J heads and 268/276 cam?

Lot easier then swapping out all those parts and keeps the car value higher, unless the orig engine is toast or you are keeping it for the value.

The original motor is fine I just bought a 340 cuda years ago that came with a fully rebuilt built long block. I figured I would put the 70 340 in the car and run her hard with no worries. The 70 340 has the X heads hotter cam aluminum intake and I am running a 750 holly the car should move out. The original long block will be nice and safe. I am building this car to use and drive. thx for the help
