Does anyone know of a source for a transmission shifter linkage? The one on my 727 is not adjustable and I can not put it in first gear only second and third when I manually shift it. It does go into drive, neutral and reverse alright and it will go through the three gears in drive. I know Lokar makes a kickdown linkage, but I do not think that is the part I need. I would most likely never have to put it in first gear, only drive which works fine, but it would be nice to correct this small problem.

Need to know if your car is column automatic or console automatic and pics of what you already have to determine what parts you may or may not need. Commonly overlooked and important piece is the trans lever many times the trans is from a different year or even the same year and has an incorrect lever installed on the trans.

No luck with A&A Transmission. This part is not reproduced and may be specific to B body compared to C and E bodies.

I ended up having to buy my parts and pieces used via ebay, and off a couple folks here. Different than a couple years ago, but just noticed they reproduce a bunch of it. Sorry, couldn't tell you how good the quality is though:

That last link for the rod is the one he is looking for i believe. Problem is it sure is not going to work correctly for all those years and models unless you are using their repo 1 size fits all vertical torque shaft and other components not to mention the A & B body use a different formed rod and there are major differences between 66-68 & 69-70 B-Body rods as well if you are using your other original components they will not fit or function correctly.

I will have to take a picture of the part when it is on the rack in the next few weeks. It is a home made welded rod that connects to the side of the transmission and it not adjustable as it should be. I think a picture of the part will help out. I also have to see the stamp on the transmission to see what year it is and for what model. I would not be surprised if it is for a big block C body as the engine is from a New Yorker. The radiator that came with the car that I sold and bought a Glen-Ray radiator was for a C body. The rear end is a 741 case with 4.10 gears and a Sure-Grip that I am replacing with a Moser 489 case with 3.55 gears and a Detroit Truetrac to be installed in the next week or two. It shifts fine in drive, reverse and neutral so this part is not essential, but I would like to make the car function correctly if I ever have to manually put it in first gear.

:blob1:I have these laying around if it could help.

I am not sure if it is the rod or the connecting plates that the transmission guy showed me as being nonadjustable and welded. I will have to stop in after work tonight.

Well, the transmission was built to handle over 600 HP and it lasted 1000 miles. The transmission shop owner is redoing it for free if I agree to pay for the removal which will cost about $200.00. I ordered the parts that Propwash listed since it is out for the next week or two. Hopefully, it last more than 1000 miles this time. I should know more next week about what failed and why as I do not drive it extremely hard laying tire at every chance I get although I drive it hard from red light to red light like a Dodge should be driven.

If park, reverse, neutral and drive are all falling in the correct spots 2 and 1 should also.
Your transmission shop should be able to confirm this but I believe your short lived transmission is do to the valve body trying to preform two functions at one time.

Drive, first and second are gone. Reverse and park work fine. I stopped at the shop yesterday and he sent the transmission out to their main shop to be evaluated and rebuilt. There was a one year warranty that expired March 2016 so the owner (Gillece Transmission) asks me to pay for the removal and he will take care of the parts and repair. He has a Dodge 330 in his main office so he is a Mopar guy. I hope to have it back next week.

I was going to say- that "swivel" assembly is your adjustment.

The transmission is done today and the low roller clutch failed. Hopefully, it lasts more than 1000 miles this time.
