Just wondering, has anyone put 73-74 roadrunner stripes on 71-72/ know where to get ones that work?

I like how it looks in my head and I saw this model on the internet and that is pretty much what I would like.

I have 72 a satellite with the satellite hood that I will put an air grabber in at some point so hood to fender strips wont work for me but the 73-74 seem like a nice option.

(FYI probably going to go with HEMI orange, tor red or b7 blue)

First its your car, do what you like. However, I believe the slope angle of the roof and c-pillar area are different enough that 71-72 with 73-74 stripes will look funny. Just like 73-74 with 71-72 stripes don't match real well either.

I have a 72 satellite silver with the black side stripes. Looks awesome.

Yes it is your car to do as you please butt... I've seen it done and it looks about as good as a 69 and older car painted FC7.

Thanks for the opinions. My aversion to the 71/72 stripes stems form what it looked like when I bought it... rr.jpg
...but his will all be down the road a few months, I have to finish the endless amounts of body work and decide on the real important things: like 318-vs-340-vs-360/383/400 and A518-vs-904/727 or just put an extra peddle.

I can certainly see why you have an aversion, someone did a half as job on the correct stripes and those look like crap and are completely wrong. Your car should look like this.

or this example, and the stripes are correct if you want to stick with the hood stripe.

Those Mopar tape stripe guys certainly earned their paychecks.

I'd love to read about who they really were.

kinda hard to do anything better than what was available from the factory (color scheme and stripe wise) IMO.

On a gm you can go all sorts a ways...if you do that on a Mopar, you got an uphill battle.

... Yeah there are a lot of things my car should look like. For example the hood you see on my car IS a Satellite hood not a Roadrunner... this guy might have been bad at stripes but he sure was an artist with pop rivets and bondo

I thought something looked funny with the hood. So this is a roadrunner clone then? Would look better with a real roadrunner hood for sure.

If you buy the stripe kit for a 73-74 and put it on a 71-72 it'll look funky however if you have a steady hand or a good painter you can mask those stripes off with tape and paint them on, it's what I'm doing. You can make them follow the contours and lines of the 71-72. It would look righteously kick *** like the dukes roadrunner.

Well, thank you for buying it and saving him from himself. I'm sure it has a much better home now.
