73 charger roof skin removal

Hey. I need help. I’m replacing the roof skin. What is the roof skin and quarter panel seam Filled with? Is there an easy way to remove the filler?

Lead, heat with torch and scrap out it falls right out ! Make sure you heat the seam or you'll damage the body of unsure stay towards the roof side since your replacing it anyways

Is it a vinyl top car?

It may be seam sealer.

Generally painted roof had lead filler and vinyl top had bondo filler.

Yes it was a vinyl roof. The filler looks porous.

Plastic filler or foam. A wire cup on a 4" grinder will take it right out. Just a little messy. Don't grind on lead, it's not good for you, or the younger ones especially.

I put a roof skin on my 73 Charger. The donor car had roll up quarter windows, so I swapped out the SE fixed quarter windows for the rollup windows. Of course right after I changed out the roof skin I found a complete sunroof roof structure.

I have a 74 charger se parts car. I don’t think I need the drip rails. Are they the same size?
