I've got a 74 Charger SE 5.8l 360 VIN K and can't get it to Start at all. Its been sittin roughly 20yrs and put a new starter and newer battery but only get the the lights to come on. They do dim when the key is turned. Have turned the engine a little and fan turned easly. Any ideas?

Have you tried jumping across the firewall starter solonoid?

Cross the large stud/nut with the smaller one next to it with the flat securing tab. Also, make sure your ground cable off the battery is securely fastened at the batt terminal and where you have it grounded. Obviously make sure you're getting a good ground as well. And it's a Starter Relay, not a solenoid. Just bringing it up in case you need to go shopping for one.

Replaced dizzy in the same way it came out but I think its 180 off or less. After rotating to tdc, what can I do next?

I have a doubt... is not starting or is not even cranking ?

if is not even cranking which is what I understand because you are saying lights are dimming trying to crank, but not spinning, I bet is damaged starter motor.

If it was a damaged relay, the lights won't dim out, because load wouldn't being missed trying to crank.

Or even a damaged battery cable!!!

Car wants to crank sometimes with the key but will crank over at the relay all the time. Maybe the neutral switch? Starter, relay, icm, dizzy, cap & button, wires, plugs, volt reg., & ballast. Neg battery cable looks ok but positive is little shady. Can't find a exact replacement for it anywhere.
