On my 74,
I am missing the orange,
yet I still have all the instrument lights and stuff

any hints as to why this configuration?
Thank you and Merry Christmas.

Does the other side of the connection have a wire? Color match isn't always as listed...
BTW, the black one looks very crispy.

The wire for that empty spot would be connected to the orange.

The wires are dry and stiff, but in person no evidence of burning/heat through.

is your car a column shift? or floor? Could be the light for the gear indicator on column shift cars maybe? just an idea. id have to pull out my FSM.

It is a console automatic, so would not need an orange to the column for a gear indicator there,
now the configuration makes sense.

Thank you.
