Btw, the only reason the 89 got a crush sleeve is because it improved the speed of production. Pretty lame imo but it did work for that.

I know I've posted this before: I add a .010" shim to the front end of the crush sleeve and just crush it a little more. I can tell the correct preload by "feel" as I have done these for 50 years.

Good idea but all I've ever done was just throw the nut back on to where it feels the same as before but use a dab of red Loc-tite.....
