8 3/4" outer axle seals

Installing new bearings and seals on my 8 3/4 rear end. I ordered a complete kit and the problem I am have is the outer axle seal provided is to big for the adjuster nut. It fit fine in the other one. The one I removed from the adjuster was just a rubber seal with no metal housing. and I can't find it anywhere. The part number on the old seal is 2404216 but doesn't have a make on it.

I will bet the outer metal shell for the old seal is still in the adjuster housing.
