8.75 open differental to suregrip, what did I miss.

I hope a 5' pipe on one axle might do it. It's the right axle that won't go in maybe I should turn the left axle and have somebody push on right axle. With no load on right axle it would have a better chance of going in. Trying to tweaking the right axle and trying to push it in might be harder than I think. I've been going about this wrong.
Dumpster coming tomorrow old junk gotta go. so it will be a few days before I go back to the axle project.

Got the axle in!!!!!! A 5' piece of pipe mounted on left axle did the trick. Mounted a 1/2" pipe flange to work bench with a 1/2" piece sticking up to hold yoke. { had straps on yoke.} Had 1/4" lag bolts to hold flange down, almost failed. Would've had to put through bolt if I had to turn it more. Once I had it ready to turn it took 10 mins. With the 5' pipe it was easy. Making the pipe was a pain in the ***. Drilled 2- 5/8" holes 4.25" apart then cut two holes large enough to put lug nuts on. Cut a quarter moon so the pipe would go against the axle flange and not damage the axle stud threads. Put the right axle in as far as it would go, put a piece of tape around it 1/2" out from bearing adjuster so I could easily see if axle went in. 3 Pushes and tries on the pipe and it went in.

Guys thank for the HELP!

Holy Cow!
Glad you got it. Makes you wonder how the two sides got out of wack from one another.

Me too. If I remember it was in a 742 housing and the gears were chipped. Maybe an axle broke. This was a throw in when I bought a Hemi engine 38 years ago. Should have taken it apart but ....

Breaking an axel might do it. Have to ask the experts...
