Hi Gents- I have a lead on a 833 out of a 69 Super Bee. I can buy it for around $250. It obviously needs to be rebuilt and I haven't seen the guts yet to check if the gears and synchros are good. I can also buy a rebuilt 23 spline with a 1 year warranty for $900. Opinions???

If the insides are good on the B body 23 spline its worth the $250.00. I would want it to be nice inside with no rust or broken teeth, have a nice clean un cut input shaft, and the bearing retainer not be broken. Also look at the clutching teeth on the backside of the input shaft when you pull the side cover. In my opinion a 68-69 B body 23 spline that is a nice core that just need the bearings, seals, and gaskets is worth $350.00 when you are needing one.
My thoughts on the $900 rebuilt 23 spline is high. If you by a good core as mention above for $350.00 the rebuild kit is $100.00 and if you had to have all the syncro rings that's another $100.00 that's only $550.00 plus doing the install. I have also never had to have all of the synco rings in any I have had apart. The rebuild is not a major thing to do if you take your time and have a service manual. Just my opinion anyway.
