1970 Dodge Super Bee. Stock 1971 440 engine with 833 4 speed.

I am new to the B-body only forum. I consider my self a NUG (New Useless Guy) as we say in the marines. I need help decoding my 4 speed which is not original to my 1970 Super Bee.

The numbers are as follows:
PP833 3036
C95129
OE 12470

Also, I purchases a Hays Clutch kit http://www.summitracing.com/search?keyword=85-311&dds=1

I started to read reviews about hays, and they haven't been good. Any experience? I plan on burning a lot of rubber and upgrading engine!

Not even a Clutch Kit Suggestion!! Going to Summit tomorrow!

Slow your roll StingYa and give folks a chance to answer, and depending on activity you you may have to ask again.

I'm not going to look up the answer to your first question, someone else probably has a reference though and i didnt' recognize this as a question:

i used a zoom forever, then a hays in my 70 RR so nothing bad to say. Others here may have a diff opinion on best to buy.

Actually i have a little bit of a story to add to my last answer on the clutch. After abusing a the zoom clutch for about 15 years (and it was used by a racer in a 64 Savoy before it got it), i was home on leave back in 98 and doing some work on the RR, when we finished, my Dad, brother, and I took it out for some controlled maximum acceleration testing. On the first hard launch i heard a BOOM!! then heard the clatter of parts flying around in the bell housing and off the floorpan (I didn't have the inspection plate on it). When I looked in the rear view mirror I saw parts bouncing on the road behind me. At first i was afraid it was the clutch spring, linkage, etc. then realized it was just the pressure plate :). We picked up the pieces and I was able to drive it home by easing it into 3rd and slowly tooling the 2 miles back to Dad's house. We put the new Hays disc in and left the zoom pressure plate installed. That's what's still in the car. I'll install the 3,000 lb Hays PP eventually (it's about 20 years new now). FYI i have the 10.95", commonly called 11" flywheel, clutch setup in my RR

I still have that Zoom pressure plate hanging in the garage somewhere.

I use a centerforce II in my 1970 GTX 440 6 barrel 833 4 speed and dana 60 rear.
The pedal is pretty light and it hooks up great.

Thats a good story! Thanks for the info!

Welcome! You have a really nice looking 70 Bee... how about some more pics? I suggest you go over to the "Welcome Wagon" forum and post some pics. Interior, exterior all angles, under hood, give some history, introduce yourself there and tell the forum about yourself, and go from there. This place has some fantastic folks with a wealth of knowledge.

good luck on your car and i hope you enjoy it!
