I'd like to know the same thing. My tranny doesn't have an 833 number on it anywhere, most numbers are barely readable. I have had pretty good luck by cleaning and using white chalk over the numbers to make it easier. I can't see a damn thing any way...old age sucks
the casting number 99129 covers a wide range of years and really says very little about what went inside. The machined stamp pad above it on 68 and up years tells all, and even that isnt a whole lot. production date and some variant on the vin code sequence.
All the other letters etc are just factory shift codes
Adding to above, I would think that most 'casting' numbers mean only that - casting date, model of part, shift (Day/Night) - in some cases a time etc. Nothing to really indicate options inside the gearbox - or an engine if that were the case. The numbers refer more to the actual cast item.
