I have few more of the bee none inside the cars are in a ware house tightly in there if I get the time on a trip through I will try and stop to get more and better pics but till then I have info not given out the man's number to dreamers if your truely interested pm me ill speak to you about what I know ask ill tell you as I was told and yes it need a lot of work as does most any car from il or oh or pa or the rest of the north east

In Ohio it is a huge pain to get the title switched over to a 'rebuilt salvage', they want reciepts for the engine and what it came out of, same with he tranny, rear pig(with VINs) and the same for any part that came off another car. I don't want to have a ton of money into something that I take to the state patrol and they find one part I don't have a receipt for and impound it because of that. I have actually had less hassle with cars from a non-title state than I have salvage cars. None of that is intended to be derogatory, I'm just explaining how Ohio is with salvage titles.
Good luck with the sale. I think there is potential there. Someone that really wants a Bee or Charger or 340 Dart and has the desire to restore one should be all over those cars. Again, good luck with the sale and thanks for your time.

If you do go with a licensed rebuilder they have to restore the car to safe road worthy condition, have a safety inspection, and have a Secretary of State Police officer (yes, we have those too) clear it all. And, after all of that the car will never get a standard title, it will be issued a "Rebuilt" title and that will always stay with the car, at least in Illinois.

In IL no one can legally offer a salvage title car for sale to the public either. If they get found out, they will soon be visited by a Secretary of State Police officer who will inform them of the violation and give them so many days to have the cars destroyed. After those days, the owner will have to prove they sold the cars to either a licensed junker or a licensed rebuilder.

Again, I'm really not trying to cause any more arguments. I just wanted to say what the law is and that I can personally say the IL Secretary of State office is tough. Loneagle, I don't think anybody has meant any disrespect to you in this thread. I think we're just trying to point out the title issue really is a big deal, at least in Illinois.

Thank you so much. It has been 20 years since I had to deal with Illinois and their wonderful system. I was trying to make the point all along that the salvage certificate was not a transferable title. Thank you.

Hello. Mopar God and Cornfield Country are just giving their opinion. We are all friends here and spend a lot of time researching cars for sale.Hell I want someone to chime in when they see a car for sale that may not be worth what the sellers asking. It may offend the seller, but would you want a unhappy customer that is a friend on this sight. No. Good luck with the sale of these cars. I myself have been educated on salvaged cars.

Laws very state to state and for instance my brother has what's left of a 69 r/t charger that was demolished so there for there is ways around simple stuff and price wise anybody could ask a fortune for junk I got him down from 6k to 4 no problem I've personally seen junk from Texas toy box go for more then that but thx and yea it is derogatory to say that a car is a parts car or not or say its not worth what your asking

It definitely varies widely state to state. In Texas it is legal for an individual with no dealer's license of any kind to rebuild a Salvage title car and get it retitled with a TX "rebuilt" title. And the rebuild process here has become laughingly easy. You just get the car inspected like you would any other car, your corner state inspection garage can do it....they did away with the State Trooper inspections that you used to need for salvage titles back in 2005. Now it's just a one-time $65 dollar "Rebuilt Fee" when you go to title the car. You don't even need receipts!

In pa you need receipts and such but you take it to a enhanced inspection station they sign off its plated title in mail in 4 to 6 weeks must have before pics I believe if you have to it needs to pass emissions pa is strict on inspections also since I'm licenced to do them and more

I went to see these cars this last spring myself in person, the 300 is pretty complete for most part but the rest are a mess. The darts are incomplete without dash vin#'s. The 69 Charger and 69 Bee are as has been said here before, in need of the AMD complete catalog. The Chally and Cuda are decent 6 cyl cars but also rusty and missing all sorts of stuff, the 71 Charger is cool but again very very rusty and incomplete, AMD here we come. No motors or tranny's in anything except for the 300.
To roadrunnerman asking about selling one at a time, I asked about this before I made the 250 mile trip, each way, to see the cars and was told he would sell me the car I was calling about by itself if we couldn't come to an agreement on all of them of half of them or whatever. When I got there he showed me both buildings and all the surprises that came with the cars from them sitting for who knows how many years, lots of raccoon leftovers kinda cool at first seeing all the "cars in a barn" After the shock of all the cars faded and I was able to "see" what was left of them I got a pretty good idea of what I was looking at and came to number I thought was fair offer for what I was seeing.
As he and I discussed on the phone he really wanted one person to buy them all. I made a legit offer for all the cars, since I had the salvage license needed to buy the Illinois salvage titled cars, without a buyer with a license he cant sell the cars 1 of them or all of them, which to my offer he said no thank you, fair enough, right?
The stinky part starts here, I replied then I would give him his asking price for the one car I initially called about, the car he advertised on craigslist at the time, the one that I originally called on and was told by him before I made the 500 mile drive, he would sell me by itself if I didn't want all 9. He replied that he would only sell it to me if I bought 4 four cars at his full price??? WTF????(his high prices for salvage titled, rusty cars most of which have no fender tags and no build sheets, some no vin tags at all, engines, trannys, seats, sheet metal and the like) this to say the least left me a lil befuddled :-( I reminded him of our agreement before I made the drive to which he replied, he had the right to change his mind if he wanted to, never mind our previous agreements, he was "talking" to a local Mopar shop about all of them and this changed everything. wtf??? This was last march or so and being the cars are still around I'm guessing they turned his price down too. ya think?????

Yes he did they would have to be reconstructed since they are salvage sertificates and being rotted pretty bad they are still 4 bbodies that could be brought back I've seen worse but I've seen better true they are rough but worth the money

Derogatory statements like these are not only detrimental they are not necessarily since neither of you are talking to the man about the cars I talked him into selling separately and am getting him to take fair market yes the bee needs a lot of work but its a 383 4 speed car originally not a 318 coroner if $3500 is to much ok don't say nothing if the 69 383 4 speed charger isn't worth $4000 then don't respond if $3000 is to much for a 71 340 road runner:eusa_think: then dont respond if $3500 is out of your price range ok on the cuda or challenger ok this being said the 300 is $4500 because it looks original and last the darts $2500 a piece both340 cars ok then to a " God" yes parts cars but a working stiff they are affordable:argue:

70RR there is one point I would like to double up on, these do NOT have salvage titles. They are far worse than that. They have Illinois SALVAGE CERTIFICATES which are NOT a title and are not transferable. Been there done that. The cars are almost a dead issue. Not every state is going to play along. Laws vary from state to state.

cornfield county, your Welcome...Here in Florida and I think in most states a Salvage Title means it is a parts car or get crushed ONLY...
NOT ROAD WORTHY....If a Salvage Certificate is below that, I would think the value of all 9 cars is slightly more than scrap value and only if you live close...I know some one that works at COPART here in Tampa and he has never heard of Salvage Certificate being issued in Florida..I am in sales and travel and see lots of old cars in yards,fields etc. and I stop to look at them here on the West Coast of Florida ..9 out of 10 times they are like most women, they look great from 100 feet !! :glasses9: Once your close your Hopes & Dreams are quickly dashed..:grin::grin: Rick 70 RR

Hey guys, I’ve been on the site everyday, lurking, looking for a 69 project. I’ve been following this thread. Unfortunately all this find has is a cool factor. You open the doors and say WOW. Then as you stroll and inspect the cars, your jaw slowly lifts off the floor and your excitement dissipates. So after you check out everything and think to your self, hmmm..maybe a deal for everything, or just one car, $1500 to $2000 each. You bring that offer to the guy who isn’t willing o budge because he thinks he has a gold mine. On TOP of that there is the title issue. Its sad to see such beautiful cars dilapidated like this, but they are nothing more than parts cars, if that.

Well as far as it goes classic cars fall under different categories then normal cars if they have a rebuilt title yes they are worth less but this being said most of us building these cars don't care about resale value as we intend on keeping them as for me buying one I am but unlike the rich guys on here I'm a working stiff keeping this country alive and just like the military always forgotten since I do my own work at a rate of molasses in Jan cause my family comes before my toys they get put on the back burner so no I'm not knowing it

Lastly I'm going to state the obvious that every day somebody butchers a good title car to make a drag car but titles are not necessary for this application but oh yea I know it all but you guys are the ones who do this stuff I don't build cars for the track I build drivers not trailer queens that look better in the garage then the driveway

I could be wrong about this but I believe these cars were being stored for the owner by the current seller. The real owner of the cars disappeared and stopped paying rent at some point so this guy got the salvage certs so he could have some type of ownership of them. I'd hate to restore these cars and have the owner get out of prison or something and show up with a title for my car in his hand. Not sure what would happen then but I'm sure it wouldn't be pleasant. If these aren't the cars I apologize but I believe they are.

IN ANSWER to this he has no recourse at all the cars belong to this man as he legally got the salvage certificates from the state of il by partitioning for them the same way my brother did and a few friends did to get abandoned vehicles the same thing as getting a mechanics Lien if now payed the money you can opt to sell as this man is this is how it works the laws in your state govern the things you can do as a renter or as the landlord he has them and can sell them the other guy has no recourse at all for them
