So.......Not a big fan of some of the Siskel & Ebert critic's over a A-Bodies, so posting it here. I know a lot of you have had or have A-bodies sitting next to your big brother B-Body anyways.

Question I have is i'm wondering, in a 1971 Dart does a slant size car have a different steering center link than a V8 car? I'm converting mine from a tower of power to a 340, and don't know if the K-Frame is the only thing I need to worry about.

Thank for your help.

I thought they were, but apparently '67+ are the same. The 73+ center link is different than <'72, but /6 vs. V8 seem to be the same. <'66 are different, so that swap does require a change. So says Google, at least.

This is correct^^^^

Thanks for the replies guys! One less part to worry about !

Hey Props. Here is a photo showing the 73 Duster I restored a few years ago. In this picture it shows the complete steering assembly as seen from underneath. Hopefully this will show you what you were looking for. I agree with what was stated above. I don't think there was any difference between /6 or V-8 cars other than the torsion bar sizes.

This is a 73 model year so you might be able to see what the difference is between a 72 and a 73.

Hope it helps with your quest. I have a BUNCH of A body restoration photos so shoot me a PM if you have any questions. image.jpg

Hey, Will . You should have just bought a V8 car to start with. LOL. Anyhow, you could have asked me over there. I don't think they consider me a DH there yet !!

Awesome!! Thank you for that. Nice to have a decent underside pic! Thanks again and that's a very sharp/clean looking Duster you got there. If questions arise, I shall come bug you sir!

Hehehehe.......well Mitch, she's no GTS like some folks have floating around here "Hint..Hint". LOL We'll just say I bought the car because of it's slant six price. I expect to probably spend 10K total at most, said and done. Not looking to make money or build something too extreme. Just a decent little A-Body for the wife to Be-Bop around in.

You know, there's a lot of real good guys over at FABO...Lotta knowledge. But what chaps me is the traveling group of gremlins that always seem to find a thread, and distort it into a drama filled squawk fest.

Seen plenty of buttfaces list later center links as "V8" links, but as said, they are all indeed the same 67 and up.

Which one am I? Siskel or Ebert? LOL

LOL Rob! It's funny you mention that "(buttfaces list later center links as V8's)", because that is exactly what sparked me to post this thread....someone doing exactly that.

Thank you for confirming on the centerlink, and as far as Siskel or Ebert, I don't think you fall into the same category as those circus clowns...... You're more of a upfront, call it like it is kinda guy.
